Koren LeClair Jewelry
Modern, Graphic, Wearable Art
Hand Crafted in Austin, Texas

While studying Graphic Design in college, I took my first jewelry and metalsmithing class as an elective. The tools, the process, the studio… it all resonated with me as a way to combine my interests in art, design, and craft.
Since that class I’ve seen several years, a few different careers, some questionable hairstyles, and called 5 different states “home.” No matter my location or job, I always found my way back to studying jewelry making, my other “home.”
I’ve put roots down in Austin, Texas. Here I create unique pieces that are reminiscent of my journey, with elements of graphic design, craft, and modern art. It is my hope that a piece of my jewelry will see a wearer through all kinds of adventures, including hairstyles.
Artist's Statement
A former graphic designer, my jewelry strives to combine my love of modern design with the ancient techniques of metalsmithing.
As a designer I am drawn towards simple patterns, bold colors, clean lines, and organic shapes. Since childhood, I’ve been interested in anything I can hand craft. Stepping away from the computer and into the jewelry studio allowed me to explore the design elements I love while using my hands to create the finished product. Constantly exploring, my jewelry often incorporates materials other than metal and stones, such as enamel, resin, wood, and felt.  Favorite techniques include box construction and inlay.
With each piece, I hope to provide the wearer with a unique, portable piece of art. Not everyone spends hours at a gallery art museum, so it is my goal to make wearable reminders of art, craft, design, inspiration, and exploration: Things that, in my opinion, we could all use more of.
